The nine-square court plan provides three distinct settings. A palm shaded Reception Court informs visitors of the history and significance of the astronauts en- deavors. Similar palm shaded Comtemplative Courts contain profile reliefs and vitaes of the deceased astronauts. In the Central Memorial Court a perpetual flame and the absence of vegetation engender in- spiration and solemnity.
